Stalking by proxy is an insidious form of stalking no one wants to talk about or recognize.  Why?  Because it is commanded by either a politician or by a very rich person.  The politician or wealthy individual hires a private investigative agency to do the actual stalking.  The purpose is to destroy the targets or victims so that if they ever speak out, telling the truth of what they know, they will not be believed, having been discredited.  Some victims have been driven to suicide and others to having total and complete nervous breakdowns requiring hospitalization.  Hang in here with me for a while so I can explain the motives behind the stalking, the tactics used, the kinds of people used, the kinds of people who start these rather vicious character assassinations and more, and what it is that is lurking just out of sight that is really behind all of it.

There are various typologies, or classifications,  of stalkers.  The garden variety of stalkers one hears most about would be the domestic violence stalkers, the erotomanics, the love obsessionals, and the simple obsessionals, per "Stalkers and their Victims."   But there are other classifications as well, such as the rejected stalker, the resentful stalker, and the predatory stalker.  When it comes to stalking by proxy, I believe the resentful stalker and predatory stalker are the most likely to engage in this type of stalking.  We'll get back to them in a future post.

Stalking is a cause of psychological damage and a form of victimization.  Stalkers are dangerous.  Stalkers are criminals.  Stalkers are disturbed and unpredictable. ("Stalkers and their Victims:)  Stalking, by its very nature, involves inflicting distress and damage to another person.  Having been stalked for over 20 years, I can verify this is a truth.  Being stalked is being raped emotionally, psychologically, and your home is penetrated by people you don't know at all hours of the day and night.  You never know when you will be "safe," and when some very strange things start happening in your surroundings.

Stalking is usually of a long-term, persistent, pattern of conduct by one or more individuals meant to harass, threaten, intimidate, and destroy another human being.  In stalking by proxy, the politician or head bad guy utilizes the services of a professional private detective service --  well, maybe "professional" is not an accurate term.  Professional private detective services would not stoop so low as to do these evil behaviors.  Professional private investigators prefer to do their work within the letter of the law.  The private detectives then move on into the victim's own home ground, learn the person's activities, clubs, places of employment, if a business is owned, they will illegally get the client list and do a real hatchet job on the person.  They will fake photographs to make it look like the victim is having an affair or is a member of a Satanic cult or is a messy housekeeper, whatever they get in their heads to do.  They are experts at character assassination and in their relentless whispering campaign they ascribe traits and characteristics to the victim that are the opposite of what the victim is actually like -- more like traits possessed by the actual stalkers themselves.   

In the beginning . . .

As I was cleaning the living room window, my peripheral vision captured a woman standing to the far right of my property, on the sidewalk, taking a photograph of my home.  I hadn't the slightest clue why a photo of my home would be of interest to anyone.  It was just a simple three-bedroom ranch starter home.  I felt blessed to finally have a home to live in instead of an apartment, but there were no outstanding features or anything.

A few days later my daughter and I turned into the driveway and noticed the front door was standing ajar.  Having lived in the city of Los Angeles for a few years prior to buying this home about 45 minutes outside that city, I'd formed the unbreakable habit of always locking the front and back doors and keeping them locked.  When we'd left for the market we'd exited through the kitchen and laundry room to the garage, not through the front door.  I went across the street and asked a neighbor to go into my home with me to make sure everything was all right and no one was there.  All was clear.  How puzzling.

We started getting a lot of hangups and then there would be callers asking for my husband or myself.  If he answered the phone he was told to keep his wife away from the caller's husband with a threat following that.  If I answered the phone I was told to keep my husband away from the caller's wife or he would be killed.  I said, "Go ahead, you'd be doing me a favor."  My husband and I compared notes.  We had no idea who would play such a vicious game nor who would have entered the home and left the front door wide open, nor who would have wanted to take a picture of the front of our home.

One day I walked to the mailbox to get the mail and in the front yard next to the mailbox I found a dead rat with a shaved head and three holes drilled into its head.  I felt nauseated, thinking that someone had killed a creature, albeit a rat, in order to cause me to be fearful or whatever the expected reaction was.

I had a sister who was a bit on the sociopathic side, but she didn't live that close.  My husband quite possibly had borderline personality disorder and he had been both mentally and physically abusive, but this wasn't his style. 

I had absolutely no clue who would mean me harm, try to scare me, or worse.

Brief Introduction

Stalking by proxy is when one person convinces other people to torment and traumatize another person.  It is similar to workplace bullying and mobbing but much worse in that its occurrence is not limited to the workplace and the torment is usually much worse. 

The person who initiates the vicious campaign against another usually lacks conscience yet appears to have one and is usually a very charasmatic individual, very credible.  I personally believe the person who would stoop this low must surely be one of the bad kinds of narcissists and/or a sociopath.  I call these people "reprobates."

The people the reprobates manipulate and convince to torment and traumatize another person I call "puppets" because they pander to the wishes of the reprobates for various reasons.  People are often beguiled into participation in these campaigns, being told the target is under investigation for some heinous crime and help is needed to "catch" them because they are so intelligent or so sneaky, etc., and they need to be "driven out of town" at the very least.

The people assaulted in this way I call "targets" because all of the traumatizing attacks are directed at this person.  Targets are sometimes political activists, or people who know something about someone powerful that feels threatening to them, such as a politician or a company.  Others are targeted by certain "religious" groups. 

Often the things that are done are illegal, such as breaking and entering the person's home and/or business establishment, wire tapping, home tapping and even home and business video recording.  Character assassination is always at the top of the list and nothing said about the target is ever true.  Personal property is vandalized, pets are often killed, reptiles, mice, fleas, etc., are often placed in the home and more.  The target is ridiculed, humiliated, and every attempt is made to utterly and totally destroy that person, drive them to complete nervous breakdowns and even suicide.  Sometimes the targets are murdered and it is made to look like suicide.

This can take place over a period of years, which is part of what makes this activity truly an evil practice.  It's a real hate campaign against an innocent person who has done no wrong and never would intentionally hurt anyone or anything.

While workplace bullying and mobbing targets a worker and is in and of itself traumatizing, the assault is most often limited to the work place and the tactics and techniques used against the target, while officious, are not quite as vicious and destructive as those used in stalking by proxy.
